“The Pandemic in Chattanooga: How Communities Can Address Disparities and Misinformation”

Dr. Lambert contines a long history of service in programs providing for health care needs and addressing public health. Dr. Lambert’s past assignments in the Washington D.C. area included with the Assistant Secretary of Health, a detail to the White House Detail, as well as deployments in the Nation’s Capitol area after the 9/11/01 attack on America and in response to the National Capitol anthrax exposure event.

Dr. Lambert has served in multiple assignments with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in senior level positions, including in a flag equivalent position with responsibility for managing more than 780 staff and an operating budget of approximately $1.6 billion.

Dr. Lambert has also served in temporary assignments, such as with the Ministry of Health as a technical consultant for the Republic of Rwanda’s Ministry of Health in rebuilding health infrastructure after civil war.

Dr. Lambert completed her doctorate at Vanderbilt University. She is a graduate of Emory University with an MSN and has a BSN degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Dr. Lambert has been nationally certified as a Clinical Nurse Specialist for Community Health and in Advanced Administration. She completed the Leadership Fellows program of the Council for Excellence in Government in Washington, D.C. She has also completed the Kingian Nonviolence Two-Day Senior Leadership Training and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing.

She is currently serving as an associate professor at Vanderbilt University in the School of Nursing, teaching public health policy and epidemiology.  Additionally, she consults with FJC and volunteers at a VA outpatient clinic in Chattanooga.
